New information has come to light concerning the shocking demises of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their Brentwood, Los Angeles home on Sunday.

According to a report citing a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment first raised the alarm after failing to get inside the residence. The therapist then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides close by.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Afterward, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Developments

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, along with the use of a dangerous weapon, said to be a knife. He is currently in custody without bail.

Disputed Reports

The confidential informant questioned several previously reported details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore pushed back against widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's behavior in recent weeks. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction applies to reports of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. While the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were not correct.

As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had still not confirmed as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports suggested the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.

Nick Reiner was arrested at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, about 15 miles from the residence. He was set to appear in court on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, stated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
